## What are briefings

A briefing is a short page that Jamie prepares before each meeting on your calendar. It shows what you discussed last time, who attends, and which tasks are still open, so you start the meeting prepared.

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Briefings need a connected calendar.** Jamie prepares briefings only for meetings on your calendar. Connect [Google Calendar](https://docs.meetjamie.ai/getting-started/calendar/google.md), [Outlook](https://docs.meetjamie.ai/getting-started/calendar/outlook.md), or [Exchange Server](https://docs.meetjamie.ai/getting-started/calendar/exchange-server.md) first.

## Turn on briefings

**1. Connect your calendar**

Connect [Google Calendar](https://docs.meetjamie.ai/getting-started/calendar/google.md), [Outlook](https://docs.meetjamie.ai/getting-started/calendar/outlook.md), or [Exchange Server](https://docs.meetjamie.ai/getting-started/calendar/exchange-server.md). Skip this step if your calendar is already connected.

**2. Turn on briefings**

Open [**Settings → Briefings**](https://app.meetjamie.ai/settings/briefings) and turn on **Enable briefings**.

**3. Choose which meetings get a briefing**

Under **Coverage**, choose:

| Coverage | Which meetings |
| - | - |
| **External meetings only** (default) | Meetings with at least one person outside your company's email domain |
| **All meetings** | Also meetings with only people from your company |

Jamie skips events that aren't really meetings, such as lunch or focus time, and events without attendees. It needs some recent meeting history before it can prepare useful briefings.

## Open a briefing

Click an upcoming meeting in your meetings list to open its briefing. Next to it, you see the **People** attending and the **Sources** Jamie used.

The briefing is also a chat. Ask a follow-up question below it, for example *"What did they push back on last time?"*

* **Not there yet?** **Preparing your briefing** means Jamie is still working on it. If there's no briefing, click **Generate now**.
* **Something off?** Open the **…** menu and choose **Give feedback**, or **Configure** to change your briefing settings.

In the Jamie desktop app, [Sidekick](https://docs.meetjamie.ai/agent/sidekick.md) shows the briefing for the meeting you're recording.

## Get a daily brief email

One email per day with the briefings for your upcoming meetings.

1. Open [**Settings → Briefings**](https://app.meetjamie.ai/settings/briefings)
2. Turn on **Daily brief email**
3. Choose the **Delivery time** and your time zone
