# Sidekick

> Ask about what people say while you're still in the meeting

Sidekick keeps Jamie next to you while you're in a meeting. It's part of the Jamie desktop app. To open Sidekick, click the recording widget.

## What's in the window

  <li>1**Meeting title, attendees, and tags.** Add a tag while the meeting is still running.</li>
  <li>4**Microphone.** Choose which microphone Jamie records.</li>
  <li>2**Expand.** Open the meeting in the main Jamie window.</li>
  <li>5**Ask box.** Ask Jamie about the meeting so far, for example *"Recap the last 5 minutes"*.</li>
  <li>3**Notes and live transcript.** Switch between your notes and what people say.</li>

## What to ask

Ask Sidekick anything about the meeting so far. You don't have to wait for the meeting to end:

* "What did they just say about the timeline?"
* "What questions haven't I asked yet?"
* "Summarize the last ten minutes for someone who just joined"
* "What did we agree with them last time?"

## What Sidekick can use

Sidekick works like [Ask Jamie](https://docs.meetjamie.ai/agent/ask-jamie.md). It knows what people said in the meeting so far. It also uses everything else that Ask Jamie uses:

* Your meetings
* Your own [connections](https://docs.meetjamie.ai/agent/connectors/connect.md)
* Web search
* Your [skills](https://docs.meetjamie.ai/agent/overview.md#skills)

While the conversation is still fresh, ask Sidekick to look something up in your CRM or draft a follow-up.

## Open Sidekick right away

By default, a recording starts in the small widget. You click the widget to open Sidekick. To open Sidekick as soon as you start recording:

1. Open [**Settings → Preferences**](https://app.meetjamie.ai/settings/preferences)
2. Under **Widget & Sidekick**, set **Start recordings in** to **Sidekick**

The same section lets you choose the **Widget size** and whether the widget and Sidekick keep **Separate window positions**.
