Meeting automation requires the Jamie desktop app on Windows or macOS and works best with a connected calendar. If you don’t see the settings, update to the latest version. They can only be changed in the desktop app, not in the browser.
Auto-start
Jamie starts recording when two things happen at once: a known meeting app uses your microphone (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, …) and a meeting from your calendar is starting — within the next 5 minutes or started within the last 10. If there’s no matching calendar event, Jamie stays out of the way.1
Turn it on
Auto-start is off by default. Open the desktop app, go to Settings → Meeting Automation, and under Meeting start detection toggle Detect when your meeting starts on.
2
Keep the countdown
The Countdown gives you a few seconds to cancel before Jamie starts. It’s on by default; adjust its length in the same section.
3
Fine-tune when it should start
Two start conditions are on by default. Turn off A calendar meeting is active if Jamie should also start for ad-hoc calls, or turn off A known meeting app is using your microphone if you want Jamie to start for in-person meetings as soon as a calendar meeting begins.
Auto-stop
While recording, Jamie watches for the meeting to wind down: your microphone goes quiet because the call ended, the calendar meeting is near its end, and no one has spoken for at least 30 seconds.1
Choose what happens
Auto-stop is on by default in Notification only mode: when the meeting seems over, Jamie asks you with a Stop Jamie button instead of stopping on its own. Under Meeting end detection, switch When your meeting seems over to Stop Jamie if you’d rather have it stop automatically.
2
Keep the countdown
When Jamie stops automatically, the Countdown gives you a few seconds to cancel if you’re not done yet.
3
Adjust the silence duration
Extended silence is always required before Jamie stops or warns. Set it anywhere from 30 seconds up to 5 minutes, depending on how long the pauses in your meetings tend to be.
Recordings that aren’t linked to a calendar event — for example one you started manually — stop only after a longer stretch of silence and microphone inactivity (10 minutes by default), so a forgotten recording never runs on for hours.
