The upcoming meetings menu and the next-meeting countdown require the macOS desktop app version 5.7.14 or later. The meeting timer is available on all supported versions.
What you see in the menu bar
The Jamie icon lives in your macOS menu bar. Depending on your settings and what’s happening, the icon can be joined by a short label and a countdown.Meeting timer
While a recording is running, the menu bar shows the elapsed time next to the Jamie icon. This takes priority over the next-meeting label so you always see how long the current recording has been going.Next meeting countdown
When no recording is running, the menu bar shows the title of your next or currently active meeting along with a countdown:All Hands · in 12m— the meeting starts in 12 minutes.1:1 with Alex · 50m left— the meeting is in progress and has 50 minutes remaining.

Actions on the top meeting
The topmost meeting (the next or currently active one) expands into a submenu with quick actions:- Open in Jamie — opens the meeting’s upcoming event view in the Jamie app.
- Join meeting — opens the conferencing URL from the calendar event. For Google Meet links, Jamie appends your signed-in email so the meeting opens in the correct Google account.
- Join & Start Jamie — joins the meeting and immediately starts recording with your default microphone.
Join & Start Jamie and Start Jamie are disabled while another recording is already running.
Configuring the menu bar
Open Settings → Preferences → Menu bar in the desktop app to control what appears in the menu bar.
Turning off Upcoming meetings hides the day-grouped list; the icon still opens the standard tray menu. Turning off Next meeting removes the label next to the icon but keeps the recording timer when a recording is in progress.
