Set up for yourself

Works on all plans. Your own connection works in Ask Jamie, Sidekick, briefings, and your own workflows.

In Carta CRM

  1. Ask a Carta CRM organization admin to create an API key for you
  2. Organization admins create keys in Carta CRM under Settings. See Carta’s guide to the Carta CRM API

In Jamie

  1. Open Settings → Agent → Connectors
  2. Find Carta and click Connect
  3. Paste the key into API key and click Connect
When you connect, Jamie tests the key with a check that changes nothing in Carta. Jamie sees only what your Carta account can see. Every note, task, and record that Jamie creates shows as yours. To test or change the key later, open Carta and click Manage key.

Set up for the workspace (admins only)

Needs the Team or Enterprise plan. Only workspace workflows use this connection. Jamie signs in with the API key of a Carta CRM user that your team creates only for Jamie.

In Carta CRM

  1. Create a user for Jamie
  2. Create an API key for the service account. Don’t use your own key. Organization admins create keys in Carta CRM under Settings. See Carta’s guide to the Carta CRM API
  3. Copy the key

In Jamie

  1. Open Settings → Agent → Connectors and select Carta
  2. Under Workspace connection, click Add service account key
  3. Paste the key into Carta API key and click Save Carta key
Workspace workflows act as the service account, not as the person whose meeting it is. Every note, task, and record that workflows create shows the service account’s name.

What Jamie can do

Jamie can:
  • Find contacts, companies, deals, investors, and fundraisings, and read their details
  • File a meeting summary as a note, attach the transcript, and link it to the deal or company
  • Add follow-up tasks to a deal, contact, company, or fundraising
Jamie can do more than this list. It can’t delete anything in Carta. Try asking: “File this meeting as a note on the Acme deal in Carta and attach the transcript”

Disconnect

  • Your own connection. Open Carta in Settings → Agent → Connectors. Click Manage key, and then click Disconnect.
  • The workspace connection. Under Workspace connection, click Disconnect. Workspace workflows that use Carta pause. They start again when a workspace admin connects Carta again.
