Set up for yourself

Works on all plans. Your own connection works in Ask Jamie, Sidekick, briefings, and your own workflows. An API token is a code that you copy from Todoist. Jamie uses it to sign in to Todoist.

In Todoist

  1. Open Settings → Integrations → Developer. See Todoist’s guide to finding your API token
  2. Copy your API token

In Jamie

  1. Open Settings → Agent → Connectors
  2. Find Todoist and click Connect
  3. Paste the token into API key and click Connect
When you click Connect, Jamie checks the token. The check changes nothing in Todoist. Jamie sees only what you can see in Todoist. Every task and comment that Jamie adds shows as yours. To test or change the token later, open Todoist and click Manage key.

Set up for the workspace (admins only)

Needs the Team or Enterprise plan. Only workspace workflows use this connection. Jamie signs in with the API token of a Todoist account that your team creates only for Jamie.

In Todoist

  1. Create a Todoist account for Jamie
  2. Share the projects that Jamie should use with that account
  3. Sign in to Todoist with that account
  4. Open Settings → Integrations → Developer. See Todoist’s guide to finding your API token
  5. Copy the account’s API token. Don’t use your own token

In Jamie

  1. Open Settings → Agent → Connectors and select Todoist
  2. Under Workspace connection, click Add service account key
  3. Paste the token into Todoist API token and click Save Todoist key
Workspace workflows act as that account, not as the person in the meeting. They see only the projects shared with that account. Every task and comment that they add shows that account’s name.

What Jamie can do

Jamie can:
  • Find tasks that are due today, overdue, or match a search or Todoist filter
  • Add meeting action items as tasks, with a project, labels, priority, and due date
  • Update tasks and mark them complete
Jamie can do more than this list. It can’t delete anything in Todoist. Try asking: “Add the action items from this meeting to my Work project in Todoist”

Disconnect

  • Your own connection. Open Todoist in Settings → Agent → Connectors, click Manage key, and then click Disconnect.
  • The workspace connection. Under Workspace connection, click Disconnect. Workspace workflows that use Todoist pause. They start again when a workspace admin connects Todoist again.
