Works with Dynamics 365 Sales and the other Dynamics 365 apps that run on Dataverse. Business Central and Finance and Operations are not supported.

Set up for yourself

Needs the Pro, Team, or Enterprise plan. Your own connection works in Ask Jamie, Sidekick, briefings, and your own workflows.

In Dynamics 365

Nothing to prepare. You sign in with your own Microsoft work account. Note the address you see when you are signed in to Dynamics 365, such as https://yourorg.crm4.dynamics.com. This is your environment URL.Some organizations let only an admin approve apps. Then a Microsoft admin approves Jamie once for everyone. See Microsoft’s guide to granting admin consent

In Jamie

  1. Open Settings → Agent → Connectors
  2. Find Dynamics 365 and click Connect
  3. In Dynamics 365 environment URL, enter your environment URL and click Continue
  4. In the popup, sign in to Microsoft and approve access
  5. If Microsoft says that your organization needs an admin to approve Jamie:
    • Click Connect again, enter your environment URL, and click Needs admin approval?
    • Click copy link
    • Send the link to your Microsoft admin
    • After your Microsoft admin approves Jamie, connect again
Jamie sees only what your Dynamics 365 account can see. Everything Jamie logs in Dynamics 365 shows as yours.

Set up for the workspace (admins only)

Needs the Team or Enterprise plan. Only workspace workflows use this connection. Jamie signs in with the Dynamics 365 account that workspace workflows should act as. We recommend a user that your team creates only for Jamie, so workflows don’t depend on one person. Your own account works too. The account needs a Dynamics 365 license in that environment.

In Dynamics 365

  1. Choose the account that workspace workflows act as. To use a user created for Jamie, add it to the environment like any other Dynamics 365 user
  2. Give that account security roles that cover the records workflows need, such as accounts, contacts, opportunities, and appointments
  3. Note the environment URL, such as https://yourorg.crm4.dynamics.com

In Jamie

  1. Open Settings → Agent → Connectors and select Dynamics 365
  2. Under Workspace connection, click Connect for workspace
  3. In Dynamics 365 environment URL, enter your environment URL and click Continue
  4. In the popup, sign in to Microsoft with the account workflows should act as and approve access
  5. If Microsoft says that your organization needs an admin to approve Jamie, click Needs admin approval? under the environment URL, send the link to your Microsoft admin, and connect again after they approve it
Workspace workflows act as that account, not as the person in the meeting. They see and change only what its security roles allow. When Jamie logs a meeting, it names the person whose meeting it was.

What Jamie can do

Jamie can:
  • Find accounts, contacts, leads, and opportunities by name or email, and read their fields
  • Log a meeting as a completed appointment on the account or opportunity, or add a note to a record
  • Update records, such as the stage or estimated close date of an opportunity
Jamie can do more than this list. It can’t delete anything in Dynamics 365. Try asking: “Log this meeting as an appointment on the Acme opportunity in Dynamics 365”

Disconnect

  • Your own connection. Open Dynamics 365 in Settings → Agent → Connectors and click Disconnect.
  • The workspace connection. Under Workspace connection, click Disconnect. Workspace workflows that use Dynamics 365 pause. They start again when a workspace admin connects Dynamics 365 again.
This connector is separate from the Dynamics 365 integration, which saves meeting notes to Dynamics 365 from the meeting page.
